NEW VIDEO IS UP – EXTREME PHOTOSHOP MAKEOVER » http://youtu.be/IRtgb7j1XIY

Over the last few weeks I have been reading blogs and watching documentaries about the topic of BDD –body dysmorphic disorder- and self-esteem.

Out of all of the facts and figures that were given, the general opinion was that ‘the media’ is to blame for a lot of people suffering at the hand of false images and false video.

In the make-up industry this is rife, almost every commercial I see has incredibly heavy post-production, which completely transforms the model. Simply because companies NEED to have this incredibly polished ‘perfect’ look in order to sell products AND MAKE MORE MONEY.

I am in no way slating post-production, I do it myself to my pictures that I post relating to makeup and beauty – however in this video I show how easy it is to over-process and take away any realistic element. I do not go as far as changing eye colours, changing lip colours and CHANGING MY FACIAL STRUCTURE.

That, my beautifuls, is telling people LIES.

My point is, if you completely transform yourself into an unreal person – if and when people see this image and then compare yourself in reality to it. They will always be disappointed. No one can ever look as perfect as they can with heavy editing. This will only lead to your self-esteem diminishing over time.

It’s unnecessary, everyone is beautiful.
